Located on the second floor of Reidsville City Hall, the Department of Community Development is headed by the Assistant City Manager of Community Services. The mission of the Community Development Department is to promote and assist development in Reidsville that is consistent with the goals and objectives of the City's comprehensive plan. The department works with citizens and developers to ensure that growth occurs in a manner that enhances the quality of life for the present and future citizens of Reidsville.
The department is divided into three divisions. The Planning & Zoning, Code Enforcement and GIS (Geographical Information System) Divisions are managed by Donna Setliff, CZO, Community Development Manager.
The Planning & Zoning Division serves as the liaison and support staff for the Planning Board/Board of Adjustment, the City's Appearance Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission, which is responsible for the maintenance of the historic City-owned Governor Reid House.
