Donecker Chosen for NCLM Board of Directors Will Help Lead Statewide Organization
(NEW BERN, N.C.) -- Reidsville Mayor Jay Donecker has been selected for a one-year term on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina League of Municipalities.
In that role, Mayor Donecker will help oversee the advocacy and membership service efforts of the League, which represents more than 540 cities, towns and villages across North Carolina.
Donecker is among four appointments to the Board of Directors made by NCLM President Michael Lazzara, Mayor Pro Tem of Jacksonville. The appointment was announced Thursday at a meeting of the board held in New Bern.
League Executive Director Paul Meyer said he looks forward to working with Mayor Donecker and is confident that his contributions will continue to help NCLM better enable cities and towns across North Carolina to better serve their residents.
Mayor Donecker is serving his third term as mayor of Reidsville, having served two previous terms from 1997 until 2005.
“It is an honor to represent the interests of Reidsville and other North Carolina cities our size on the NCLM Board of Directors. Cities such as Reidsville are crucial for positive growth in our rural counties and it will be great to advocate and learn how this can be achieved for the benefit of all of North Carolina,” Mayor Donecker said when he thanked the board for his election.
