City readies for inclement weather on Wednesday

City of Reidsville's Public Works Department has been working on the City-maintained roads since yesterday to prepare for the expected inclement weather. As of the last report, snow is expected to start falling during the early morning hours Wednesday. As usual, the goal is to complete the pre-treating of all major City streets and several key areas, including City facilities such as the fire stations, Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Police Department and City Hall. Police Chief Ray Gibson stated that extra police personnel will be on duty during this time and encourages residents to stay off the roadways if they can. If you become stranded, call 911 immediately as conditions are expected to be frigid and dangerous. Residents are also urged to park their vehicles off City streets if possible to allow room for the City’s snow plows and other machinery to work. Reidsville City Offices will be closed Wednesday in anticipation of the weather event.
