Loose Leaf Collection Starts in Reidsville on November 4

The Reidsville Public Services Department will begin curbside loose leaf pickup on November 4, 2024. As a service to our citizens, the City picks up loose leaves, but these leaf piles should be placed behind the curb line to minimize clogging of City storm drains. Do not place leaves in the travel portion of the roadway.

If City leaf crews pass by your leave piles, it may be for one of the following reasons:

  • Sticks, brush, and any other foreign objects are in your leaf piles. Such debris can severely damage and clog our collection equipment and delay the collection process. Piles found to contain these objects will not be collected until cleared of debris.

  • There is not enough room between the leaf piles and on-street vehicles for our leaf collection equipment to maneuver.

  • Leaves collected and mulched by a lawnmower or similar equipment should be bagged and collected by the City’s Sanitation Division.

Residents are encouraged to retain leaves on their property and compost when possible.

Have your leaves at the curb line by 7 a.m. on your pickup day. Please remember that our leaf crews follow their route schedules to the best of their ability. To try and maintain that schedule, they are unable to backtrack to fulfill special requests.

This service will end on January 10, 2025. After your collection day that week, you must bag your leaves to be collected by the Sanitation Division. If you have questions about this service, please call 336-349-1070 from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
